Light My Way 3:200:00/3:20
Psychedelic jam rock album featuring the creative contributions of the live quartet. We've been performing and developing these songs over the past year or two. In November we recorded them live at The Vault recording studio in Pittsburgh. We overdubbed a couple solos and the vocals at home. I was happy that this album featured ideas from every member of the band. I hope you enjoy the music! - John credits released April 15, 2023

Here's a new collection of lyrical songs. The first song features one of my favorite artists and biggest songwriting influences, Phil Dickey of Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin. I first saw them in 2008 at the Black Cat in Washington DC. We got the oppoortunity to open a show for them at the Brillobox in Pittsburgh in 2009 and it was amazing getting to meet some of my musical heroes. Before the show I went to Gabriel's and bought the largest pair of tightey-whiteys they had and had the band autograph them. The only question they asked was if they were clean.
The next two tracks are journalistic songs documenting my relationship with my now fiance. Here to Stay is a love song and features some of my favorite writing and production.
Ms. Lyss documents our first date. It was written, recorded and mixed in the style of early rock'n'roll, one of my favorite genres. Almost everything was recorded with a ribbon mic, drums tucked into the mix, vocals upfront & mastered to tape.
This is a beach inspired album that combines the sounds of the steel drum and ukulele with surf guitar tones. I set out to create something organic, chill, and vintage sounding but the recording process steered me into some unexpected sonic territory.
In addition to the underlying beach theme, this album was also heavily influenced by instruments and equipment that I was lent and gifted. This music would not be if weren't for these contributions. I'd like to thank and acknowledge:
steel drum and ukulele from Alyssa Kearns
shakers and miscellaneous wooden percussion from my parents
custom stratocaster and Silvertone amp head from Mr. Bradford
Miktek and vintage RCA mics, Chandler Little Devil and vintage Universal Audio LA-4 compressors, RTZ and Phoenix mic preamps from Rich Bradford.
